The ICESat launch was scrubbed because of a problem with a helium tank on the launch vehicle.

Icesat is scheduled to be launched on January 11th, 2002 aboard a Boeing Delta II rocket .

LAUNCH DELAYED In the routine final preparations and reviews that take place before a launch, a question arose late on December 16 about some performance data for one of the electronic boxes on the launch vehicle. More details will be provided after we've done more fact-finding and coordinated dates with all the players.
