Getter Pumps

• Size:




There are 3 different locations for the getter pumps:



1. Enrichment cell
2. Ion source
3. Analyzer

Each location requires a slightly different getter pump, but all the getters are roughly the same size.

Height = 2.25 to 3 inches (5.715 to 7.62 cm)

Diameter = 1 or 1.2 inches (2.54 or 3.048 cm)

Object of comparable size: The getter pumps are about one-third to one-half the length of a pen and about the same diameter as a bottlecap.

• Materials Used: Inconel x750-750 (a metal alloy made of nickel, chromium, and iron)



• Purpose: pumps that use chemical reactions to remove gases from the vacuum chamber
