On the left is the hydrogen reservoir,on the right is the pressure regulator, and in the center is a valve. The entire assembly is about 4 inches (10.16 cm) wide. When the Huygens probe is released and the GCMS ready to start its experiments, the valve is punctured opened and starts the flow of hydrogen gas. The gas flows through the pressure regulator, which controls how much gas gets let into each column.
